Flashnet has announced the completion of its seed funding round, backed by Abstract Ventures and other investors from fintech, technology, and capital markets. While the exact funding amount has not been disclosed, the capital will support the development of its decentralized exchange (DEX), designed to facilitate non-custodial Bitcoin trading.
The platform introduces an on-chain trading system that eliminates the need for intermediaries, custodial risk, and additional consensus mechanisms. Flashnet states that its design incorporates insights from years of decentralized exchange development, avoiding reliance on bridges or external infrastructure. The exchange enables BTC trading against native stablecoins and other assets, with key partnerships including Brale for the launch of USDB, a Bitcoin-based stablecoin, and Privy to enhance user experience.
Flashnet plans to release more details on the platform and its launch timeline in the coming weeks. The company positions its exchange as a solution to the limitations of existing Bitcoin trading infrastructure, emphasizing direct access to liquidity with on-chain settlement.
