Naptha AI, a platform that aims to revolutionize artificial intelligence through decentralized, multi-agent orchestration, has announced a $6 million pre-seed funding round. The investment was co-led by Arche Capital and Cyber Fund, both recognized for their early involvement in prominent blockchain and AI projects. Additional support came from Seed Club Ventures, Polymorphic Capital, GnosisDAO, Halo Capital, and others, marking one of the more substantial pre-seed rounds in the AI sector. Naptha AI’s approach represents a shift toward interconnected AI networks, moving beyond traditional single-model architectures to create dynamic, adaptive systems of collaborating agents.
Naptha AI, founded by Mark Schmidt and Richard Blythman, is advancing a scalable and cooperative AI ecosystem through its use of Multi-Agent Universal Intelligence (MAUI). Schmidt brings experience from open-source AI projects and foundational roles at Duo and Mozilla, while Blythman, a machine learning engineer with experience at Huawei and Xperi, contributes a strong research background in decentralized AI. Their combined expertise shapes Naptha AI’s platform, which allows developers to deploy networks of intelligent agents that interact in decentralized and economically driven systems. This design aims to push AI’s capabilities into new fields, from analytics to healthcare, where coordinated agentic systems could handle complex, multi-faceted tasks more efficiently.
In addition to financial backing, Naptha AI is gaining technical support from notable figures and organizations involved in open-source AI projects, including contributors from Nous Research and AutoGPT. This funding enables Naptha AI to further develop its vision of a decentralized AI ecosystem, enabling developers to build interoperable agents within existing frameworks or on its proprietary platform. The architecture is designed to facilitate smooth integration with decentralized infrastructure, creating a system that could redefine AI’s role across various sectors.
