Ancient8 has received a grant from Optimism’s Governance Fund to support the development of its Web3 gaming ecosystem. This funding aligns with Ancient8's objective to advance blockchain-based gaming and support a network of developers, gamers, and content creators. The grant will facilitate integration with Optimism’s infrastructure and strengthen Ancient8’s position within the Superchain.
The grant will be used to improve the quality and scalability of existing projects on Ancient8’s Layer 2 platform. It will provide access to technologies such as Account Abstraction and AI-driven tools and optimize product development and distribution pipelines. The initiative also aims to attract new projects and IPs to the Superchain by offering tailored support and growth mechanisms, including Space3 and Reneverse, for game and dApp development.
Ancient8 will use part of the funding to support community-building efforts. Plans include hosting events like hackathons, meetups, and tournaments to increase user engagement. Content creators, gaming guilds, and DAOs will be supported to help expand awareness and participation in the Ancient8 and Superchain ecosystems.
Moving forward, Ancient8 plans to expand interoperability within its infrastructure to enable smooth access for developers and gamers. The organization will implement programs to assist builders with resources and tools to turn projects into market-ready solutions. The upcoming Ancient8 Builder Jam Hackathon, set to start on November 20, 2024, will bring developers together to create games and applications using the platform.
