Slingshot DAO, a Roblox AI Game Launcher, Raises $16M from Prominent Industry Players

Slingshot DAO, a Web3 and AI-driven game launcher for the Roblox platform, has completed a $16 million funding round backed by prominent investors in the crypto and gaming sectors. The investment was led by Dragonfly Capital, with participation from Animoca Brands, Digital Currency Group (DCG), Sfermion, Standard Crypto, Sanctor Capital, Collab+Currency, and Alphabit. These firms have previously supported various blockchain initiatives, including The Sandbox, Axie Infinity, Yuga Labs, and Coinbase. The new capital will support Slingshot DAO’s expansion and further development of its platform.

The platform provides a space for developers to showcase their projects, with community members using the $SLING token to vote on game concepts. Developers whose projects receive the highest votes gain access to financial support of up to $50,000, as well as additional resources for distribution and networking. Slingshot DAO operates within Roblox, which has a daily player base exceeding 85 million, allowing it to tap into a significant market for Web3-integrated gaming. The platform aims to create a community-driven approach to game publishing by combining AI, blockchain, and traditional gaming frameworks.

To date, Slingshot DAO has facilitated the launch of 11 games, with its published titles reaching 3.3 million monthly active players. The funding will contribute to expanding its capabilities, onboarding more developers, and refining its model for community engagement. The platform’s structure enables developers to access funding while allowing token holders to participate in project selection.
