Vana, a blockchain-based network focused on AI data ownership, has received an investment from YZi Labs. The deal represents YZi Labs' first AI-focused investment since its rebranding, signaling its move into emerging technology sectors beyond Web3. As part of the announcement, CZ will take on an advisory role at Vana.

The Vana network is designed to give users control over their personal data while facilitating access for AI researchers, developers, and businesses. By establishing a blockchain-powered framework for data exchange, Vana seeks to address the rising demand for high-quality datasets. With an estimated 329 million terabytes of data projected to be generated daily by 2025, the initiative comes as data financialization gains traction across multiple industries. The network currently supports over 16 DataDAOs, with plans to introduce data tokens for further financial applications in areas such as healthcare, finance, social media, and mobility.

The new investment will be used to accelerate Vana’s network expansion, onboard additional DataDAOs, and enhance infrastructure for data monetization. The funding also aims to increase participation from data contributors and advance commercial adoption of the platform’s AI-driven data exchange model.
